Middle School Ministry (OPTIONS)

OPTIONS is the Youth Ministry program for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.

OPTIONS News:

  • August 9 was the start of our new season for OMT.  We meet on Wednesdays.   All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are invited to join us for our WEDNESDAY, 4:30-5:45 meeting.  This group is totally drop-in--No registration required1  We start with a bit of socilaizing, then read and discuss the upcoming Sunday's Gospel, share prayer intentions, and then, more socializing and snacks.  Sometimes we play board games, sometimes we work on service projects, sometimes we just talk about current events, school or life in general.

  • The Children’s Choir is starting up soon for grades 1-8.   Questions?  Email Allison Blomeke with your questions.

  • We are always welcoming new Altar Servers.  If this is something you have thought about, or have questions about, contact Fr. Rodolfo.

What is OMT?

OMT is the OPTIONS Ministry Team. This is our Wednesday afternoon drop-in for all middle school students. We currently have kids from 5 middle schools that come on Wednesdays for socialization, a lectionary based discussion (we read and discuss the upcoming Sunday's Gospel) and then talk about current events, play games and just be together. Our meetings start at 4:30 and end at 5:45 PM. All are welcome!  This group is invovled in many parish functions including

  • Feed My Starving Children:  We try to go to this most worthy facility at least twice a year to package food for the hungry in our world.
  • Project Heifer: During Lent, we collect our loose change to "Make a Change" through this organization.
  • Movie days: During the Christmas break and once in a while, during our Wednesday meetings.
  • Santa Elves: We are the elves who help Santa at the Pancake Breakfast in December.
  • Ushers: The 5:30 Sunday Liturgy has middle and high school ushers.
  • And much, much more.
