This index lists all the Faith Formation ministries (alphabetically) and provides a brief overview for each ministry.



Adult Confirmation (Vicariate I)


This program, for adults (18 and older - out of high school), prepares the participants for receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation. Classes meet for 8 weeks in the spring.


Adult Enrichment Sessions

Join us as we explore topics such as Mary, Eucharist & Liturgy, Peter & Paul, etc. Sessions are on Monday evenings, Wednesday evenings, or Friday mornings. Registration is required.


Baptism Preparation Sessions


These sessions prepare families with infants and children for the Sacrament of Baptism. Families with infants through age 3 contact the Parish Office. Families with children age 4-13 contact the Director of Faith Formation.


Bible Study


Gain a deeper understanding of the Bible and explore its wonderful mysteries. Classes are scheduled 3 times a year. Sessions are on Monday evenings, Wednesday evenings, or Friday mornings. Registration is required.


Confirmation Prep - 8th-10th Grade

This program is designed to prepare the young people of our community to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. How this is accomplished is through bi-weekly onsite small group sessions and discussions in helping the youth embrace their relationship with Jesus as well as gain a closer familiarity to the Holy Spirit and the role it plays in Confirmation. Preparation for Confirmation begins in 8th grade and is celebrated in the fall of 10th grade.




KAIROS


A 4 day retreat for High School Juniors and Seniors. Students get away from life's distraction and learn more about themselves, their faith, and God.


Marriage Preparation Sessions


These sessions prepare engaged couples for the Sacrament of Marriage. Information on this program will be given to you as you begin your meetings with a priest or deacon regarding your wedding.


Religious Education - 1-7th Grade


The Children's Religious Education program is offered for children who are in 1st through 7th grade. Sacramental Prep is a two year process. The sacrament of First Eucharist is celebrated in second grade and sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated in third grade. Our family-based, experiential program is designed for individual, family, and community learning that addresses the human need for a personal relationship with Jesus. The religious education program offered to these students is designed to fit the interests and schedules of the students.


Retreats

Retreats can be defined in the most simplest of terms as a definite time spent away from one's normal life for the purpose of reconnecting, usually in prayer, with God. Join us at one of our several retreats. Retreats are offered on alternate years during Advent and Lent. These retreats are presented on a Saturday, usually from 10:00 to 3:30 pm.


Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

Are you interested in becoming Catholic? Are you an adult Catholic wishing to receive the Sacraments of First Communion and/or Confirmation? The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a program that will answer your questions and help you join the Catholic faith. Saint Edna's Inquiry on Catholic Christianity meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm.


Special Religious Education Development (SPRED)

This religious education program is offered for children with developmental disabilities (ages 6-10) and is designed to fit the special needs of those students. The program meets monthly on Saturday mornings.


Summer Mission Trip

For one week during the summer, teens and their chaperones travel to serve the marginalized. We work hard, pray fervently, make new friends, and get a better vision of the global church by this experience.
