Web Site Administration

Multiple groups are responsible for the content and administration of our web site.

Overview

The administration of our web site is distributed across many groups. The role and responsibilities of each of these groups is described in this section.

Commission Heads

The Commission head has the overall responsibility for all the web content within their commission (which includes all the ministries assigned to that commission). Their primary responsibilities include:

  • Act as the primary content sponsor for the commission.
  • Ensure that each Ministry has a ministry head (this person is the primary content sponsor for that ministry).
  • Ensure that a content editor is assigned to each ministry (a content editor may be assigned to multiple ministries).
  • Review the web pages for their ministries on a regular basis.
  • Provide Home Page updates to the Director of Communications on a regular basis (weekly and/or monthly).

Ministry Heads

The Ministry head has the overall responsibility for all the web content for their ministry. Their primary responsibilities include:

  • Act as the primary content sponsor for the ministry.
  • Work closely with their content editor to ensure that their ministry page is updated on a regular basis (based on the activity of that ministry).
  • Ensure that their ministry page contains current contact information for the key members of that ministry.
  • Provide Commission head with information related to key events occurring within the ministry (for posting on the Home page).
  • When changing ministry heads, ensure that the incoming ministry head is familiar with their responsibilities outlined in this section.

Content Sponsors

The content sponsor is responsible for providing (or reviewing) web content for the area that they represent. In general, commission heads and ministry heads are the primary content sponsors, but other staff and lay members can also act as content sponsors. Their primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide timely and accurate content for the web pages they sponsor.
  • Work closely with their content editor to implement web content on a timely basis.
  • Participate in Web Site training and refresher sessions when conducted.

Content Editors

The content editor is resposible for making the actual changes to the web site. Their primary responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with their content sponsor to obtain web content on a timely basis.
  • When adding/changing web content, follow the consistency guidelines and standards that are defined (see Web Site Documentation).
  • Participate in Web Site training and refresher sessions when conducted.
  • Contact the Web Admin group whenever additional support or information is needed.
