Human Concerns Commission will witness, support, and promote efforts in all areas of Ministry of Care and Social Outreach to further Christ’s mission to serve one another.
May is St. Edna's month to sponsor the Meals on Wheels Program, delivering food to some of our senior neighbors.
If you can volunteer 2 hours of your time during a weekday, please contact Sharon Welch at 847-394-3323
Jana Minor has spent over 40 years working in prison ministry and established several programs, including pen pal ministries. She came to St Edna’s on May 1 to talk about how a pen pal program works.
If you are interested in Ministry of Care or would like more information about the training, please contact Deacon Joe Yannotta, jyannotta@stedna.org or the Parish Office.

The Prayer Basket is in church and is offered as a part of the offertory at Mass. Intentions are placed in the basket and they are strictly between the person that places them in there and the Lord who receives them. The prayers are then offered collectively during the Prayer of the Faithful at Mass.
When people are critically ill, a request form can be filled out in the Parish Office by a family member for prayers to be offered during the Prayer of the Faithful.
If you would like to be added to the Angel Network, please contact the Parish Office at 847-398-3362. Ministers who are on the Angel Network receive an email and then they offer prayers for people who are in urgent need of our prayers.
As members of St. Edna’s parish faith community, it is our responsibility to remember both in concrete and spiritual ways those who cannot celebrate mass with us each week because they are ill. Those who are sick, in turn, remember all of us daily in their prayers and in their sufferings. We experience many blessings because of their remembering us. And so, please remember in your prayers the people listed on the “Pray for Our Sick”.
